February 14th marks more than Valentine's Day, in 2018 it was the day when a 19 year-old former student killed 17 people (among them artist MANUEL OLIVER's son) at a high school in Parkland, Florida. OLIVER put a bulletproof vest on the “Fearless Girl” statue in New York to create “#FearfulGirl." The vest stayed on the statue for one hour before it was peacefully removed. ERNO ENKENBERG's "Barricade" features school desks and textbooks and is based on photographs of paper models. Of the photo-realistic painting "The New Normal" PATRICK NEVINS says "It is a social commentary about gun control and how school shootings in the U.S. must be dealt with by our government."
